Is Saberry In Your Skin Brightening Cream?
Have you ever heard of Saberry? It’s part of our Daily Tone Brightening Complex, so we wanted to take this opportunity to share some of its awesome properties - and how it can enhance your skin care routine.
So, what is Saberry?
This is the proprietary name for an award-winning ORAC-dense phytonutrient extracted from Indian gooseberry (Emblica officinalis, also known as amla). Ok, what the heck does that mean? Here’s a quick breakdown:
- ORAC: This stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, but you’re probably more familiar with the term “antioxidant.” Dense in this instance means antioxidant-rich. Some studies have suggested that the more antioxidants you consume in your diet, the slower the aging process for your body. This can obviously have some good impacts on your skin.
- Phytonutrient: According to The Nibble, phytonutrients are “a plant-derived essential nutrient that has been scientifically confirmed via research as important to human health. Examples include...coumarin, cryptoxanthin, ferulic acid, monoterpenes, oxalic acid and vitamin C in citrus fruits.” Basically, lots of good stuff in nature that is good for your health and skin care routine!
- Indian gooseberry: This tree is grown in India and the Middle East, and its fruits have been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. Scientists were able to identify some bio-markers that made Saberry a good candidate for cosmetic products to help with anti-aging, sun care, and more.
So, a bunch of scientists got together and figured out how to extract this phytonutrient from Indian gooseberry, and use its ORAC-dense properties to boost your skin care routine! And what did we do to make it even more special? Porcelana combined Saberry with other botanical ingredients that even skin tone, nourish, and moisturize your skin, as well as add UVA and UVB protection. Basically, this little bottle is packing a big punch and can improve your skin care routine in important ways.
We hope you learned something cool about nature’s abundance, and how it can be used in everyday products to improve and brighten your skin! To read about dark spot correctors, or our Day and Night skin lightening creams, check out our homepage or read our blog!
